The Wysoko Foundation was established on the initiative of the inhabitants of the Himalayan village of Majkharka to help the most needy students.
This is the home village of Namgel Sherpa, my friend and guide, with whom I have been leading trekking groups in the Nepalese Himalayas since 2016.
The foundation's activities have expanded.
What are we doing?
We support all the children at the school (70 people) by providing them with uniforms, backpacks and school supplies.
We have been paying the salary of an English and art teacher for 3 years.
For the second year, we are organizing dedicated, individual educational sponsorship for students from other towns.
For 10 years we have been conducting meetings and presentations in Poland, presenting high-mountain culture.
What else?
We lead trekking in the Himalayas and Karakoram.
They finance the statutory activities of the Foundation and provide employment to mountain residents.
We make sure that the people working with me are fairly paid and have appropriate insurance.
Every year we provide work to 50 people: guides, porters, drivers.
